Come and see this first collection by Alexa Ludeman & Emily Wessel of Tin Can Knits. “9 Months of Knitting” includes patterns for babies, toddlers and their parents. The book and some individual leaflets are available for purchase at the store.
We are also welcoming Alexa to our teaching staff. She will be starting with a Beginner Knitting class and then on to a class making “Gramps”, an adorable top-down shawl collared child’s cardigan (check out the sample in Tosh Vintage in the Trunk Show). Then learn how to knit hard-working socks in all sizes using her “Lumberjack pattern.

The house is strewn with wrapping paper and the turkey is stuffed and in the oven, so it is finally time to sit by the tree and knit. Referring to my new book “220 Fair Isle Motifs” by Mary Jane Mucklestone (thank you Judy!) I am casting on for a fair isle hat using 9 shades of Shetland wool. Here is wishing you all health & happiness in the new year ahead and that you find time for your favourite knitting projects over the holidays!

The much awaited “Coastal Knits” is now available at Black Sheep Yarns. This beautifully written and illustrated collaboration between Alana Dakos & Hannah Fettig is sure to inspire. My particular favourites are the Gnarled Oak Cardigan and Wildflower Cardigan but there isn’t one of the 5 sweaters or 5 accessories that I wouldn’t love to knit.

“Little Red in the City” by well-known Scottish designer Ysolda Teague is a must have book for knitter’s who wish to make sweaters that fit and flatter. The book takes you step by step through how to take body measurements and how to modify patterns. The calculations are shown in detail and I have not seen another book quite like this one. As well there are beautiful patterns with Ysolda’s usual flare for detail. We are thrilled to have this book for sale at Black Sheep Yarns.
