Beginner Knitting

This class is for those who have never knit, or those who are still mastering the basics.  The skills that will be taught are as follows:  casting on and off, the knit stitch, the purl stitch, increasing methods, decreasing methods, and basic finishing techniques. Students will first make a practice swatch and then will be guided in starting a small project.

Materials

• One skein of light-and-solid coloured worsted weight yarn
• 5mm straight knitting needles (preferably wood, bamboo or plastic)
• scissors, darning needle, stitch markers
