Beginner Knitting (Weekend)

This class is for those who have never knit, or those who are still mastering the basics. The skills that will be taught are the following: cast on and off, the knit stitch, the purl stitch and basic finishing techniques. Then students will go on to knit stitch sampler hand warmers. After completing this class, you will be well on your way to becoming a knitter!

Materials:

Supplies for classes must be purchased at Black Sheep Yarns

• One skein of light-and-solid coloured worsted weight yarn (eg Cascade 220, Malabrigo Rios)
• 5mm straight knitting needles (preferably wood, bamboo or plastic)
• Pattern: Churchmouse Stitch-Sampler Handwarmers (included in class fee)
• scissors, darning needle, stitch markers
