Beginner Colourwork

  • $40.00

Colourwork knitting, also known as fair isle or stranded knitting, is a technique for working two or more colours of yarn in the same row. This technique is not as difficult as you might think, and Alexa will guide you through the basics. You will be using "Clayoquot" a free fair isle hat pattern by Tin Can Knits. This modern fair isle hat is a great blank canvas for testing yarns and colour combinations and you can knit it in any size from newborn to adult large.
Students must come to this one session, 2 hour class with the ribbings section of the hat completed. You will then be ready to start the colour work portion of your hat. You will learn different techniques for holding your yarn, tips on keeping an even tension and how to read a simple fair isle chart.
