My First Kerchief Shawl
Triangular style shawls are very popular and highly wearable. They can be worn around your neck, kerchief style or as a true shawl. In this class you will make "The Age of Brass and Steam Kerchief", a popular pattern by Orange Flower Yarn. This quick shawl can be knit in any weight yarn and in our class we will be using DK weight. Adjusting the size is as easy as adding more repeats of stockinette and garter eyelet rib sections.
In this class you will knit back and forth using a circular needle starting with a garter tab. You will also learn a simple lace stitch, using a yarn over, as well as make one left and right increases. During the last class you will be shown how to block a finished shawl.
Students should be proficient with cast on, knit, purl and cast off prior to taking this class. This class is ideal for students who have just completed our Beginner Knitting class.
